Hello friends & advocates,
This is something that is VERY important to me, so please take a few minutes out of your day to read this.
An unidentified serial killer (referred to as The Long Island Serial Killer) murdered 10 people over the past several years, leaving their bodies along the Ocean Parkway. Among the victims that were identified were Amber Lynn Costello, Megan Waterman, Melissa Barthelemy, Maureen Brainard-Barnes.
These women were sex workers, and they were also much more than that. They do not deserve to be referred to as "sacks of bones." I am disgusted that NOW-NYC would refer to victims of violence in such a way. PLEASE read the following open letter to NOW-NYC, written by members of Sex Workers Outreach Project NYC (SWOP-NYC) and Sex Workers Action New York (SWANK).
Open Letter to NOW-NYC
Ok, step 1 is reading the letter. Step 2 is showing your support by signing it. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org if you would like to add your name. I have done it, and you should too. Victims shouldn't be called "sacks of bones," and NOW-NYC should have more respect for victims of violence.

Instead of going out tonight and buying that expensive drink, donate that $10 to this important cause. I'm about to make my donation right now.
I'm really sick of living in a society where there's SO much violence against women. Please share this post if you are sick of it too.
